Duke Energy seeks more Hybrid Car Technology
February 14th, 2008 by Hybrid Car EnthusiastA partnership including Duke Energy Corp. will establish a center at North Carolina State University that will develop technology for hybrid vehicles and other energy-efficient transportation.
Charlotte-based Duke (NYSE:DUK) is teaming with the university and Progress Energy Inc. (NYSE:PGN) of Raleigh on the project, dubbed the Advanced Transportation Energy Center.
Startup costs are estimated at $5 million, with an additional $1 million needed annually to run the center.
